MODEL HISTORY
The Rolls-Royce Corniche V was a luxury cabriolet hand-built in years 2000-2002 and was also the only new Rolls-Royce model during the ownership by Volkswagen Group. It shares its platform with Bentley Azure and the body was modeled after Silver Seraph. The engine, however, is the good old 6.75L Rolls-Royce V8, instead of the BMW V12 engine, producing 325 hp and astonishing 740 Nm, which is paired with four-speed automatic transmission.
A total of 384 units were made. In 2003, the Rolls-Royce brand was sold to BMW and the Crewe plant, home to Rolls-Royce, was taken over by Volkswagen and became a Bentley plant.
